Tasting Notes
This wine has a lovely structure and expressive tannins, pleasing red fruit flavours, and a generous mouthfeel. Try with Burgundian cuisine: beef bourguignon, tripe and chitterling sausage in Chablis, or with a platter of assorted deli meats.
History
The Bichot Family started a relationship with the House of Jean Bouchard in 1926, going on to purchasing the House in 1955 and in the time that has followed their wines have gone from strength to strength.
Regional Information
The vineyards of the Hautes Ctes de Beaune are located on a plateau above the famed Cte de Beaune, at an altitude of between 300 and 400 metres.
The vines grow in calcareous clay soil (originating in the Jurassic period) and benefit from maximum exposure to the sun as the orientation of the slopes varies from south to east.
