What do you get when you combine a beautiful sunny Mediterranean climate with one of the most isolated countries in the world? Chile, a vine grower's paradise. At Veramonte, we believe in preserving this paradise. So we are careful to be as sustainable as possible in the winery and we farm all of our vines organically. No nasty chemicals in our vineyards or our wines. The fruit for this Merlot is grown on our estate in the beautiful Casablanca Valley, where it ripens slowly, thanks to the gentle cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean. When it is ripe, we carefully pick and vinify the grapes, and then age the wine for 8 months in oak barrels, resulting in this velvety, elegant, and intense Merlot.
